It dates from the early 1600s (Jacobean period) and is worthy of a visit just for the building itself but it also houses an extensive international collection of textiles and clothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1008\" height=\"756\" src=\"https:\/\/mplg.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/20230810_104605_resized_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mplg.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/20230810_104605_resized_1.jpg 1008w, https:\/\/mplg.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/20230810_104605_resized_1-980x735.jpg 980w, https:\/\/mplg.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/20230810_104605_resized_1-480x360.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1008px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded by the Honourable Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth (1886-1967) the collection was amassed to teach, to support creativity and wellbeing, to support employability, to preserve traditional craft skills and to share knowledge, skills and expertise across cultures.&nbsp;
